Project Description:

This project consisted of demoing an old railroad bridge that was being used as a pedestrian bridge, and replacing with a new pedestrian bridge crossing over Bayou Lafourche. The base consisted of driving eight 16” square X 72’ long concrete piles, as well as installing a sheet pile bulkhead and 4 concrete bents. The bridge was constructed by installing 3 sections of a pre-fabricated pioneer steel sections for a total of 210ft, as well as concrete sidewalks, and pre-fabricated handrails. The new bridge now allows boat traffic to pass, while also providing pedestrians a safe passage across Bayou Lafourche.
