Project Overview

Sealevel Construction was awardedthe general contract for the multi-phased, $96M Bayou Lafourche Pump Station. See below for more details on each structure's progress thus far on the project.

Outfall Structure:

  • Installation of (80) 16” x 90’ foundation piles and 70’ sheet piles
  • Installation of (48) sheet piles for outfall structure
  • 27' excavation within cofferdam
  • 1,000 cubic yards of concrete by way of the tremie slab method

Raw Water Intake Structure and Administrative Building(Complete):

  • Installation of sheet piles and helical piles
  • (3) 8” 50HP centrifugal pumps, intake and discharge piping
  • Construction of 16 x 16' mechanical/electrical building
  • 200 feet of 12" discharge raw water line
  • Installation of (21) 24” x 70’ pipe piles for admin building

Discharge Pipe and TRS Shoring System:

  • Driving and pressing 60’ and 50’ sheet piles, utilizing our Silent Piler
  • Fabrication and installation of waler beams and pipe struts
  • Excavation, 57 stone, and a bentonite grout mix
  • Installation of (29) 30” x 92’ pipe piles for discharge pipe supports
  • Assembly, setting and fabrication of 72" and 84" OD discharge pipe

Pump Station

  • Installation of (120) 24” x 106’ pipe piles 50' below grade for pump station slab
  • Construction of 78.25' W x 165.5' L x 50' D cofferdam included the installation of (106) 75’ long sheet piles, 50' excavation and 4 levels of waler and strut bracing- fabricated by Specks
  • Tremie slab method for placement of 3,260 cubic yards in the cofferdam
  • Pour, place and finish 1,700 cy of concrete for pump station's structural base slab
  • Formed and poured 1,200 cy of concrete for first wall lift
