The Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District(BLFWD) and U.S. Corp of Engineers devised the Mississippi River Reintroduction into Bayou Lafourche (MRRBL) plan to improve the flow of fresh water down Bayou Lafourche. This plan entailed a series of projects including the Bayou Lafourche Weir Removal. Sealevel was awarded the general contract of the weir removal, which included the following scope of work:

• Demolition of the Thibodaux Weir
• Removal of structural concrete and existing rip rap
• Replacement of concrete for sidewalk and parking area
• Sitework including removal of trees
• Installation of 122’ boardwalk
• Installation of 250’ linear feet of timber curb on the sidewalk
